K-01 and Macro-Takumar 50mm/4 (just a photo).

I just wanted to share a photo i took on my way to work with my K-01 and  SMC Macro-Takumar 50mm/4. It’s a good combination, focus peaking help getting critical focus. It’s always a pleasure to use those old Screwmount Takumar lenses !

So i found a leaf laying on the ice and liked the contrast and details on the leaf.

Pentax K-01, SMC Macro-Takumar 50mm/4, ISO 100 at f/16, tripod.

    Hi Steve,

Looks like you were able to use focus-peaking with a manual lens. Am i correct? I am trying to use a Leica Apo-Telyt 400/6.8 lens on a K-01 using a Leitax adapter. The adapter will not have a chip, so there will be no communication between teh lens and the camera. That seems to be analogous to what you have done here with the a macro lens.
Could you please comment if I will succeed. Thanks.

    • Hi,
yes focus peaking works with old lenses like my M42 Takumar. I also use Ext. tubes that have no electrical contact at all and focus peaking works very well. I also use my M42 lenses on my Sony NEX-3 that have focus peaking as well.

Good shooting, it’s a great camera.
